Sound Identity
Pro Senectute is committed to a self-determined and meaningful life for seniors in our society and encourages solidarity between generations and among older people: «Stronger together». In line with their mission statement, inclusion, freshness and a hearty feel were the central topics in the development of the sound identity. Peter Burri Follath, Head of Communication at Pro Senectute Switzerland, says: «It was important to us that the Pro Senectute sound is both grounded and activating, while at the same time coming across as unagitated, friendly and warm-hearted. After all, getting older is not always fun.»
In the process, the warm and earthy sound of the hammered dulcimer (played by Valais luminary Ephraim Salzmann) combined with acoustic blues guitar has become the foundation of the Pro Senectute Sound Identity. "Both instruments are well known in Switzerland, but the unusual texture in the interplay makes you listen: Just unagitated fresh.
